A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. Hidalgo County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It stays within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine technical data is recorded when a page loads:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hidalgo County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the county sheriff, New Mexico courts, the DPS State Central Repository, NMCD, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal file, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy policies govern information entered there, and each partner decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data. Review those terms before submitting a query because this policy does not control the partner's system.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Hidalgo County departments, New Mexico courts, state agencies, legal resources, or search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's policy controls. Read it before sending personal details.
An advertising provider may track activity across websites to select ads. That process occurs on the provider's system.

The New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12 NMSA 1978, governs access to public records held by government custodians. Section 29-10-6 NMSA separately controls a person's access to DPS arrest-record information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to the law that applies, a user may:

- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
