Questions about official Hidalgo County criminal records belong with the office that created or keeps the file. Most local counters are in Lordsburg, but court, sheriff, detention, and state repository records remain separate. The contacts below route each common request to its proper custodian. Hidalgo County Criminal History is a private reference resource and cannot accept a records request or issue an official document.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

The county does not publish a separately named sheriff records division, dedicated records email, online request portal, fee schedule, or counter hours. Start with the main sheriff number and ask how to send a narrow request under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act. For a court file, contact the Judiciary clerk rather than the elected county clerk.
